ID.EIGHT is the line of sustainable, cruelty-free and entirely made in Italy sneakers born in 2020 from the initiative of South Korean designer Dong Seon and product manager Giuliana Borzillo, a creative duo in life and work.
Aware of the environmental problems that afflict the fashion sector, the two decide to trace a path of positive change in the world of Italian fashion by designing a start-up that, with a revolutionary approach, tackles the waste of resources.
The formula is: to combine the technology of circular innovation with the historic local manufactories, to give life to a design
casual and genderless, with references to 90s colors and aesthetics. The characteristic materials of the brand, enhanced by a mix of shaped contrasts on the upper, derive from the transformation of fruit waste: apple-skin and Vegea are born from the bio-polymerization of apple peels and pomace sold by Italian companies, while Pinatex is made with the leaves of ethically grown pineapples in the Philippines. By-products once considered inert, now resurrect in the form of fabrics with surprising textures and finishes. Added to these are the use of recycled and organic Gots cotton for the inner lining and recycled polyester for the lycra and mesh inserts and for the laces. Finally, the packaging: inside each recycled paper box, in fact, there is a seed bomb, to be planted on the terrace.
