Low Carbon Travels is a Dutch-based tour operator offering eco-friendly travel packages (temporarily) to Italy, Spain and Portugal. The Packages are characterized by the use of a rental electric car at destination with free recharge at the accommodation facilities where the customer is staying (Sleep & Charge).
In turn, these structures (agritourism, boutique hotel, masseria) are also selected for their eco-sustainable character (rainwater recovery, renewable sources of own energy, zero km products, etc.) and the strong link with the economy local. The journey from Holland to the holiday destination is mainly done by train (Train & Electric Drive), or where the distance is too far, with a CO2 compensated flight. During the holiday the customer is autonomous and free to move how and where he wants, but Low Carbon Travels also offers experiences as an extra in order to involve the local economy even more and thus give a truly positive impact.
The visitor can therefore enjoy a holiday without any environmental impact, in full respect of sustainability, and indeed giving support to small local businesses.
