TerraCycle is an award-winning, innovative company operating in 20+ countries globally, with a mission to Eliminate the Idea of Waste®. We do this in 3 key ways:
First, we make it possible to recycle items that are traditionally non-recyclable (from chip bags to cigarette butts to dirty diapers) through a variety of recycle platforms in partnership with brands, retailers, and manufacturers. This has allowed us to create hundreds of national platforms to collect and repurpose products and packaging that currently go to landfill or incineration.
Second, we work with leading consumer product companies to integrate unique recycled content back into their products or packaging. For example, TerraCycle operates what we believe is the world’s largest supply chain for ocean plastic and used this material to launch the world’s first recyclable shampoo bottle made from ocean plastic in partnership with Head & Shoulders.
Third, we work with brands and retailers to design out of waste. TerraCycle is the parent company to Loop, a reuse system that enables consumers to buy their favorite household products in durable, reusable packaging that can be refilled again and again.
Loop is a separate entity, and although we share the respective missions to eliminate waste, this document will focus on the rest of TerraCycle’s lines of business.
